Today, we sat down for our seventh bargaining session with UFCW Local 324, the union representing our Orange County-based AMAs. In preparation for today’s session, our team worked diligently to develop our latest counterproposal, which remains in line with our long history of taking care of our team.
WHAT WE COVERED
Going into negotiations, we knew the economic aspects of the contract might require more back and forth. We also knew it would take more time to collect and analyze the necessary data and information needed to ensure we’re continuing to make sound decisions that are in the best interest of our team, our patients, and the long-term sustainability of our organization.
PPOSBC and the union both want to provide employees with good wages and benefits. Although there are additional discussions to be had in order to reach an agreement with the union, we are confident that we’re heading in the right direction on the topics we discussed today, which included:
- Merit increases
- Group insurance (specifically, employer contributions)
- Retirement contributions
- Wage rates
Our sessions to date have been productive—we’ve now discussed, and begun to make progress on, all aspects of the contract. We will continue to follow this process and bargain in good faith to reach an agreement with the union.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Our last 2024 bargaining session will be on December 20. We’ll pick back up in the new year, with sessions on January 8 and 23.
